About
Dr Jason Pandya-Wood (Jason Wood) is currently a Principal Lecturer in Youth and Community Development at De Montfort University. He was Research Director for DMU's Square Mile initiative (www.dmu.ac.uk/mile2) from 2011-2012.
A qualified youth and community worker, he has experience of working with young people at risk of exclusion, and teaching experience in forensic secure and community mental health settings. His teaching and research interests include social policy, criminal justice and the relationship between youth policy and youth work practice. His recent publications include Work with Young People: Theory and policy for practice (Sage, 2009, ed. with Jean Hine). In criminal justice, he has undertaken numerous research studies and written extensively about the community management of high risk offenders.
Jason recently gave oral evidence to the House of Commons education select committee who were considering the future of services for young people.
