About

I studied musicology and dramatics at University of Leipzig (Germany) and Karl-Franzens-University (Graz, Austria) completing my Master's Degree in 2007. My research focuses on contemporary music as well as on communication theories (esp. system theories by Niklas Luhmann, Laws of Form by George Spencer Brown) applied to (electroacoustic) music. Since 2008 I have been studying for a PhD at Music, Technology and Innovation Research Centre and the Institute of Creative Technologies  (De Montfort University, Leicester, UK), where I am working on the  EARS II project. For my PhD I investigate the hypothesis that appreciation and accessibility of electroacoustic music can be enhanced for inexperienced listeners (e.g., children) through explanation of the main concepts of this music using an e-learning environment.
